Early fall garden tour with Nana. The simple beauty of the ripening squash, the dahlias, the late roses, the fruit laden branches, and the drying beans hanging on their vines brings me so much joy.

I think of the coming fall harvest, and the abundance of summer, and the awe that a perfect rose can evoke. The smells are changing, yet summer still lingers.

September might well be my favourite month, not just because it's my birthday month. The overlap of summer and fall is the best. Warm sunny days; cool sweater-needing evenings; the summer crops like tomatoes, peaches, corn are still going strong; the fall pumpkins and apples are starting to show up. We can look forward to cozy days and soup for dinner, while still enjoying summer drinks on the patio and the last few swims at the lake.

August pizza in our @bakerstonebox ceramic pizza oven. A labour of love for me and my bf.

We used garden vegetables, buffalo milk cheeses from @coleman_meadows_farm , fruity olive oil, and peaches from my mom's tree to create these beauties for our family. Swipe left to see some of the different pizzas we made.

~Grilled vegetable salad with our simplest pizza: tomato, basil & fresh mozzarella.

I highly recommend getting a ceramic pizza oven if you can. They are inexpensive and fit right on your barbecue. They can be used to make naan as well!
